Ted Lasso Season 4

Fresh off his cameo appearance during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final half-time show, Jason Sudeikis returns for Season 4 of hit tv series Ted Lasso. For its soundtrack, the Official Trailer sports, appropriately, British band Mumford & Sons 2026 bluegrass track ‘Run Together.’ Mumford & Sons are old friends of Jason Sudeikis, with their collaborations dating back to Sudeikis’ Saturday Night Live era.

Originally planned as three seasons only, Ted Lasso is back for extra time, and the trailer opens with wistful banjo plucking as we see Lasso walking towards his old manager’s office at AFC Richmond. He embraces Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) as the music swells at 0:08 to subtly highlight the arrival of the Apple TV logo. Notice that when these two pat each other on the back at 0:07, it’s synched to the beat of the song.

At 0:16 the vocals enter with the chorus, “When we run, we run together,” and at that moment we cut to a shot of a football pitch full of women running, seemingly in tryouts. (Season 4 tells the story of Lasso’s return to the UK, this time to coach a women’s football club.) Spot on for linking lyrics to visuals!

Continuing this audiovisual synergy, at 0:21 we hear the lyric “we fall apart” as we see Roy Kent and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) walk away from each other (these two are a former fan-favourite couple who broke up in Season 3).

Within the first half minute, we have heard less than ten words of spoken dialogue from the cast, and scarcely any sound design (foley, ambiences, etc.), with Mumford & Sons being given near total control of this trailer’s audio. Then at 0:29, we hear Keeley counting down from 3 as she prepares to take a photo of the team. Her countdown is–you guessed it–synched to the beat of the music.

At 0:32, the chorus vocals return (“when we run…”) and as before, on beat with the word “run” we cut to a shot of the team, now running fast up the pitch in a league game. A note on the kick drum is added to the track at 0:35, in time to accent a player’s shot, and a snare hit accents the arrival of the ball in the back of the net.

At 0:44 after the last line of the chorus, the music evaporates. This leaves spaces for a heartfelt and wise interaction with one of the team’s star players who shares that “life is so much more than football.”

The trailer is pretty well complete by this point, there are no more Mumford & Sons lyrics for us to savour, though we do get some bluegrass instrumental fingerpicking as we see the Ted Lasso title card fade in at 0:54.

Short but effective in conveying the emotional heart of the show, the trailer provides the audioviewer with a showcase for how precise music and video syncing can reinforce the messages of both.
